Ha keresztül akarnál menni az állomáson - If you'd like to go across the station - 駅を渡りたいなら

Egy eléggé váratlan dologgal találkoztam múlt hétvégén. Sikerült ugyanis úgy alakítanom az életemet, hogy múlt hét szombaton délelőtt a Tokió Állomás nyugati oldalán volt dolgom, délután meg a keleti oldalán. Így hát gondoltam, a legrövidebb út a kettő között az egyenes, úgyhogy egész jó ötletnek tűnt átmenni az állomáson...

Gyanútlanul be is mentem a nyugati kapun, és semmi gond nem is volt addig, amíg ki nem akartam menni a keleti oldalon. Az ottani automata kapu viszont nem akart kiengedni. Így hát odamentem a közelben posztoló személyzethez, hogy most mi van ilyenkor? Az úriember megnézte a chipkártyámat a gépével, majd így szólt:

- Áhá! A nyugati oldalon jött be, igaz?
- Hát... Igen. - Mondtam én, gondoltam nincs mit takargatnom...
- Ha itt akar kimenni, akkor felszámítunk 140 ¥‎ "állomáshasználati díj"-at(, vagy mit)...
- (WTF???)
- ...de ha visszamegy a másik oldalra, akkor ingyen megússza.
- Ömm... Hát jó... Akkor visszamegyek...

És így is lett, kénytelen voltam visszamenni a nyugati oldalra, és megkerülni az egész állomást. Amúgy megtaláltam a külön erre a célra kialakított folyosót, úgyhogy annyira azért nem tévedtem el. Ja, meg a fenti történethez nem igazán kapcsolódik, de ha már ott voltam, le is kaptam az állomást, mert elég jól néz ki. :)



I happened upon a rather unexpected event over the weekend last week. You see, I managed to arrange my life in a way that on Saturday last week, in the morning I had some business on the western side of Tokyo Station, and in the afternoon I had some other business on the eastern side. I thought the shortest path between the two places is the straight line, so going right through the station seemed like a fairly good idea...

I entered through the western gate quite innocently, and there was no problem until I wanted to exit through the eastern gate. But then the ticket gate didn't want to let me out. So I asked the nearby station staff what should I do now? The gentleman had a look at my chip card with his computer, and said:

- A-ha! You entered from the western side, right?
- Well... Yes. - I told him, thinking I had nothing to hide...
- If you want to exit here, you'll have to pay a 140 ¥‎ "station usage fee" (or what)...
- (WTF???)
- ...but if you go back to the other side, you can get away with this escapade without paying.
- Umm... Well... I'll go back then...

And so I did, I had to go back to the western side and go round the whole station. Although I found the passageway that was built just for this purpose by the way, so fortunately I didn't get lost too much. Oh, and it doesn't have much to do with the story above, but I took a photo of the station while I was at it. It looks quite nice. :)



先週末、何か変なことに出会った。
先週の土曜日、私の生活のおかげで朝に東京駅の西側に用事があって、午後には駅の東側に別途の用事があったね。
「それなら、一番速い道は真っすぐじゃん」と思って、駅を渡っておこうと思ったね…

汚れのない心で西口で駅に入って、東口に出ろうとする時まで何の問題もなかったね。
でも、そこの改札のチケットゲートが外に出したくなかった。
で、近くの駅員に行って、「こんな時にどうすればいい？」とか聞いた。
駅員は私のICカードをコンピューターに入れて、こう言った：

－ははぁ！西側で入ってきたでしょう？
－まぁ…そうですね…－隠すべきことがないと思って、私が言った。
－ここで出たいなら140円の駅利用料とかを支払うことになりますよ…
－（ふざけてるんじゃねぇよ！？…）
－…でも、西側に戻ったら無料で出られます。
－えぇ…まぁ…それなら戻ります…

で、そうするしかなかったね…
西側に戻って、そこで駅を出て、結局駅の全体を回り込んでしまった。
ちなみにそのための廊下を見つけたので、あまり迷子にならなかったね。
あ、そして、上記の話と全然関係ないが、そこにいたら、駅の写真を撮っちゃったね。
なかなかかっこいい場所だから。 :)
